Mr. Popular Meets Ms. Nobody by Pinkyjhewelii Part 1

I don't have a lot of time and can only write short posts at the moment. So let's start with this.

I smiled while staring at her angelic face. Itong babae na `to, itong baliw na `to, itong walang common sense minsan, itong mahilig manghampas at manigaw, ito ‘yong babaeng gugustuhin kong makasama habang-buhay.

Just mind your own life. Well, let’s see. Let the magic begin.

What Pad?

What the h*ll is this thing?

Can anybody please, please, please, please explain to me how these wanna-be "writers" are being printed with an awfully and alarmingly better quality books than those deserving writers. (I didn't want to use the term writer because I don't think they deserve to be called as such. Yet. But due to the lack of better word, I shall use it with quote marks to indicate my extreme sarcasm and disgust on the subject matter. Does that make any sense?)

The ABS

What's the connection? Nothing, really. I just want to say it.

I just want to address the pressing issue of the ABS. Yes, I'd like to call it "the abs."

It's not that I don't like men with abs. I absolutely love them! To quote one movie I happen to come across with but forgot the title, "I love men with abs like an eight dollar whore." hahaha! I meant to say, yes, they are pleasant to look at. They are perfect material for the perfect fantasies. They are drool-worthy species. But do they always have to be just a walking sexual fantasy in books? And do the other characters that surround them always have to stress the obvious?

I get it, if I come face to face with a man showing off his abs right in front of me, I'd probably go tripping and salivating all over him. But that's not to say I have to make myself a spectacle out of myself.

I HATE reading about women who are given one-dimensional characterization when it comes to viewing the opposite sex. Nakakita lang ng abs, naging manyak na? I especially hate it when the woman's dialogues include words like "yummy, katakam-takam na katawan, mukhang masarap dilaan ang abs, parang ang sarap pisil-pisiilin ng abs, etc."

Dilaan? Pisil-pisilin? Seriously? At the rate at which these words are reaching the young readers, I may never let my unborn children come anywhere within a mile radius of a bookstore!

Yeah, I know, I'm just exaggerating.

Erotic Books for Teenagers? WTH!

I have not read Fifty Shades of Grey and all the other sequels of the book. I tried, though. I've only gone three pages because I feel that my critical mind would explode with all the "comments" I'm sure I will have.

Anyway, the purpose of this post is not to talk about 50 Shades but rather about the genre in general. I don't have anything against erotic books. I actually think that its mainstream popularity is inevitable. However, I am most concerned that it has become easily available, especially to the younger audience.

When I said I have not read it, it doesn't mean I didn't know what it contains. It only means that I didn't read it word per word and from cover to cover. I just think it's not right that young girls who have not even graduated from high school are reading about sexual fantasies and fetishes. That's just sick and twisted, in my opinion.

My Kind of Entertainment

It's engaging and it makes my imagination work overtime.

I like picking on anything and everything.

It's nothing serioues really. Kaya yung mga writers/author diyan, walang personalan. It's all good. We can all get a good laugh hahaha! But in your case, you should probably take notes. It's better than nothing, right?

Ignorance Is A Choice

Hindi dahil chismosa ako kundi dahil naniniwala ako na "experience is the best teacher."

Ang sabi niya experience is the best teacher.

Dahil naniniwala akong "stupid is a condition and ignorance is a choice." People can't help it if they're stupid. So as I was saying, ang pagiging intellectually challenged ay isang hindi kanais-nais na kondisyon. It is simply the state of being.

The choice is entirely yours.

Having said that, I am a person who does not want to be called an ignorant. That's why I read. I have a wide range of topics that I'm completely interested in. And the reason I read Tagalog Pocketbook, other than wanting to be entertained, is because I also want to learn.

Anyway, the whole purpose of this post is to remind us that experience is the best teacher. And if you'd rather read Tagalog pocketbooks that teaches you to throw shoes at people or be rude to people, then it's your choice. After all, stupid is a condition and ignorance is a choice.

The Tiny Little Devil In All Of Us

Nadiskubre kong masaya palang magrant. Kaya ito ang isa pang rant.

Let's not pretend that the world is a nice place because it's not. It is full of evilness and wrongdoings (damn I hope I don't sound like a preacher). So while it is true that all people have inner goodness, it is also true that all people have an evil side to them.

The fact that many people visit and read my blog is a testament to how twisted we all are. While we condemn people who talk badly of others, we secretly enjoy watching, or in this case reading about the bashing and torment of someone or something. That tiny little devil at the back of our minds is actually savoring that nasty bit of laugh every time.

We're very close, actually. LOL! I sound like a psychomaniac. hahahah!

When Sparks Fly by Celine Isabella

He was the most indulgent man she had ever met.

She was not born yesterday. The attraction was too strong to resist.

May malaki nga lang problema: she was already engaged to be married.

My Bright Star by Kensi

When they were in college, Yumi considered Pete as a pain in the neck that never went away. And he knew quite well how to use those charms to his advantage.

Then one day, bigla na lang siya nitong binigyan ng regalo. He even called her his bright star. Suddenly, he was Prince Charming material. Then she noticed she was starting to feel all warm and mushy whenever Pete was around.

Binanatan pa siya ng, “I’m sorry, I can’t love you.”

Men, they can be really stupid sometimes.

Miss Ugly Duckling Chases Mr. Bangko by Luna King

“If you walk away now, I won’t chase you again, Stone!”

It was because he was the only boy who made her feel beautiful despite the ugly scar on her face.

But she forgot that in love, there were two rules: never expect, never assume.
